It's time to reveal the shortlists for the first ever UK Glitch Hop Awards! The winners will be revealed during out 1st Birthday Party at Juno, on Shoreditch High Street, London on Friday 15th February.

From 7pm-2am you'll be treated to sets from Glitch.fm resident DJs William Breakspear, Morbidly Obese Midget, Mike Wallis and Your Niece, plus a special live set from Terrorbyte & Automaton from Beta Test Records. The man behind the UK Glitch Hop logo will open with a down tempo glitch set to ease you into the weekend, so it's well worth arriving early. We'll also have free stickers and CDs to dish out.

Attention Paris! Vent viens!

Mouldy Soul Down Under, Australia/UK tour January/February/March 2013

So while were all back in the UK freezing our nuts off, Mouldy Soul's enjoying himself in the Aussie summer with the Adapted Records crew, eating shrimp off the barbie (we know it's true, it was in an Opiuo track), downing some kind of beer that definitely isn't F*sters and trying his hardest not to get a tan. Culprate gets Toast Face-d

Old skool flavours given the 2013 refix on this chilled Culprate vs. Cypress Hill mash up by Toast Face from Canada. Lush.

Cerebral Theory gets some practice in

It's a double drop from Cerebral Theory this month: on 28th January The Pooty Club Records release the track Bracing Osiliks, which reveals a fuller bass sound than we've hear from him before, whilst retaining all the brain twinkling harmonics that he's so fond of (we especially love the FarfetchD remix).

This new fullness can also be heard across all three tracks of the Learning Curve EP, released on 11 January through his own Inception Records. It stems from a warm elasticy bass buzz underlying the gorgeous high end melodies, like the glitched out vibrations of an uber-fat upright string. Lush.

Shamanic Technology gets LostinSound.org

Shamanic Technology's just done a huge interview and an even bigger guest mix for the US music blog LostInSound.org. In it, he reveals news of forthcoming remixes for Si Begg, Gravitas Recordings, Dizraeli and the Small Gods, as well as plans for the Omni Temple collective, a new UK based management agency and label, with UK Glitch Hop favourites Spenghead, Mouldy Soul and Kursa already on board. Oh.. and did we mention the collaborations with Kursa and Mouldy Soul?! We really can't wait to hear how those come out. With whispers of a US visit later in the year, this is a man to keep a very close ear on in 2013

It's all about four-step garage...according to Spenghead

Yes it's true, glitch hop doesn't have to be 90-110bpm! It can be any tempo you like! Spenghead leads the way into 2013 with some distinctly neurofunk inflected future garage on Adpated Records. He's like so 2011. Oh and there's a 100bpm Cubism remix for those who can't handle the departure and a dirty Vortek version to confuse all the bro steppas.
