Set deep in the rolling hills of Leicestershire at the heart of rural England, Noisily Festival of Electronic Music and Arts lies in one of the most beautiful wooded valleys in the country. Totally contained amongst the trees creating a safe haven where hedonism and escapism can flourish and thrive, Noisily Festival 2014 will play host to some of the most exciting musical talent from the UK and abroad, along with a plethora of performance, innovative installations and mind bending visual arts.

You can expect to hear an extremely diverse collection of music; ranging from Electro, Glitch and Breaks, through House and Disco, via the Noisily mainstay of Progressive Techno, to the considerably beefed up Psychedelic line up with the traditional Psychedelic Sunday now including Friday and Saturday as well.

2014 sees the expansion of the site and arrival of the infamous Liquid Stage; after a decade at the sorely missed Glade Festival, Liquid Records has found a new spiritual home amongst the kindred spirits and like-minded ravers in sunny Leicestershire.

Across 3 main areas and a smattering of nano stages; below vast ceilings of woodland décor pulsing to the sound of kicking basslines, shredded in two by laser beams and shards of light; amongst the sound of laughter and a sea of smiles, boredom will be a word soon forgotten.

Distant Tremor presents a night of BASS! w/ AMB / Mouldy Soul / Quanta / EurythmY / ISO - @ Union, Vauxhall, Friday 29 March

We can't gush enough about how excited we are to see AMB back in London! Someone who could be seen alongside Tipper as one of the pioneers of what we now call glitch hop, Ambrus was living in London and making glitchy breaks way back in the day, founding Chi Recordings in 2000. He's since found himself at the head of a rapidly growing Hungarian glitch hop scene, while his live sets and production skills are in demand worldwide. (NB. His influence is probably bigger that we're even aware of - just check out the list of people he masters for here!)

*Tune into Glitch.FM on Wednesday 20 March an exclusive interview with AMB ahead of the show*

As for Distant Tremors, it's brilliant to see the emergence of another glitch hop infused club night start up in London. Known for their club and squat parties in the London Psytrance scene, the guys behind Distant Tremor are trying something a little different for 2013 and have created a line up with a distinctly psychedelic mid-tempo flavour.

Quanta, another production whizz from South West Wales represents the trippy dub vibes of New Zealand's Enig'matik Records, while we're delighted to see Eurythmy getting a main room slot after first being introduced to his gorgeously melodic music by Mouldy Soul on Glitch.fm. Speaking of whom, if Mouldy Soul's set at ::Illumination:: on Saturday is anything to go by, he's going to blow the roof off at Union! We're also really looking forward to -ISO- (first played on Glitch.fm by the Morbidly Obese Midget), plus residents Atman Construct and Forever Blind who have been feeding quality glitch mixes into our Soundcloud group for the last year. Oh, and there's some short fat fellow playing too.

If you like your mid-tempo to be mind-tweaking, this is not to be missed!

UK Glitch Hop rocks

So, following a 2011 UK tour from Bassnectar (the first in 7 years), The Glitch Mob also return to the UK this weekend. With dubstep getting ever more US sounding (Flux Pavillion, Doctor P), a jaw dropping EP from Zen Death Squad this summer (pictured above) and an amazing forthcoming tune from Koan Sound on Zane Lowe's playlist this week, the time feels ripe for UK Glitch Hop to blow up in 2012.

On this tip I've started a UK Glitch Hop Facebook page to help you keep track of events and releases, as well as keeping everyone else posted with what you're up to (Like Like Like). According to Facebook there's over 30,000 of us in the UK who like US glitch hop acts, so lets get behind our home-grown talent as well. They fucking bounce! Here's a guide to what's out there at the moment...

Released today, here's a sample of that literal Funk Blaster from Bristol's Koan Sound:

With heavy props from the likes of ill.Gates, Ben Samples and Muti Music boss Dov, this is my EP of the year so far from London's Zen Death Squad. They've just completed a US tour and have a new release on the boil.

Bigup the originator - Dave Tipper is one of the artists that got this whole thing started and probably the first person I ever heard playing glitch hop in the UK

Led by William Breakspear and based in Liverpool Skanky Panky records has been flying the glitch hop flag on these shores for almost two years now. Although their artists range from far and wide here are a few of the UK based gems, including Son of a Glitch from London and Fredo from Bournemouth:

SPRF006 - William Breakspear - Skanky Panky Tune (SPRF006) by Skanky Panky Records

The first DJ I ever heard smashing balls of lazer crunk across UK dancefloors was Your Niece. He opened for Bassnectar at Secret Garden Party this year and blew the Colisillium apart

Cambridge's Mouldy Soul comes with a heavy wobble, delicate minimal techno sounding glitches, is signed to Colony Productions and had his first release with KrossBow through Addictech earlier in the year

I seem to remember Vent from London making heavy ass dubstep smashers, but they've recently co-produced a sick track with ill.gates and Opiuo and released more mid-tempo wobble through Colony Productions

Inaudible from Birmingham has been pretty audible in the glitch hop community, comes highly recommended from Doktor Krank and has even remixed Freddy Todd and Splatinum.

Splatinum - Pumping Quarterz (inaudible Remix) by inaudible

Orangudan in Worcester has been smashing out the wobble and mid-tempo for some time

On the mid-tempo / electro side of things there's a very tasty producer coming on in Guildford called WBBL

Also down in Bristol DJ Parker is rather partial to a bit of glitch-hop. Although I've not yet heard a full glicthed out release from him it can only be a matter of time (nudge nudge, hint hint)

Last and probably least, here's a bunch of my old glitchtapes (fresh sounds on the way!)
Morbidly Obese Midget - Om Bongo Whomp Hop (Tribal Circuitry 2011-04-23) by Morbidly Obese Midget

It's 1am on a school night, so I'm bound to have missed about a million people off the list. If I have post your tunes here!
